Fournisseur militant d’appareils électroniques éco-conçus et de services pour lutter contre l’obsolescence programmée.

Commown est une Société Coopérative d’Intérêt Collectif, statut qui permet de fédérer clients, salariés, comme producteurs autour d’un objectif commun :
limiter l’ensemble des externalités associées aux usages numériques.

Le projet est né suite au constat que l’obsolescence au sens large prend racine dans le modèle économique dominant : production et vente. La vente pousse structurellement les producteurs à favoriser le renouvellement des appareils. A contrario, Commown propose aux clients une offre basée sur la location avec services et sans option d’achat. Les appareils sélectionnés sont les plus éco-conçus possible tel que le Fairphone, ou les ordinateurs Why!. Les clients disposent d’un appareil, et surtout de services : prise en charge des pannes, casses, assistance à l’usage... Le prix dégressif des mensualités dans le temps incite l’usager à conserver le même appareil. Commown propose ses offres aussi bien aux professionnels qu’aux particuliers, et gère aujourd’hui une flotte de plus de 3700 appareils. La coopérative porte également un plaidoyer le plus radical possible à l’occasion de concertation publique, tel que les travaux de conception de l’indice de durabilité par ex.
