Presentation
Depuis sa création en 2019, et reposant sur les 55 ans d’existence de l’université de Valenciennes, l’Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France est reconnue comme un pôle d’excellence en formation et recherche.
Modèle unique d’établissement en France, l’université regroupe 2 établissements composantes, l’INSA Hauts-de-France, et l’école supérieure d’art et de communication de Cambrai, ainsi que les 2 composantes que sont l’Institut Sociétés & Humanités et l’Institut Universitaire de Technologie.
Présente sur 5 campus, Mont Houy, Cambrai, Maubeuge, Arenberg, Tertiales et Ronzier, l’Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France compte plus 14000 étudiants.
L’université, propose 170 parcours de formation, depuis le Bac jusqu’au doctorat, autour de trois grands domaines :
• Sciences, technologies, santé ;
• Droit, économie, gestion, management ;
• Arts, lettres, langues, sciences humaines et sociales
Depuis septembre 2022, l’UPHF associée à l'Institut Catholique de Lille, possède son Ecole Doctorale. C'est la seule en France où l'on peut obtenir un doctorat avec une spécialité majeure et une mineure.
L'UPHF axe la réussite étudiante sur la modularité des cursus, afin de répondre au mieux aux besoins du monde du travail.
Les modules polytechniques et d'ouverture apportent une dimension multidisciplinaire et une ouverture d'esprit qui sont nécessaires afin de relever les défis de demain.
Une ambition que l’université a concrétisée à l’échelle européenne en co-créant en 2020 l’alliance d’universités européennes EUNICE, « European University for Customised Education », réunissant les 10 établissements-membres. Elle offre de nombreuses opportunités pour la communauté universitaire :
cours en ligne et en présentiel, mobilité en Europe, événements de recherche, activités sportives et culturelles, et plus encore.
Dans cette même dynamique d’internationalisation, l’UPHF a développé plus de 200 partenariats à travers le monde, et accueille près de 2000 étudiants étrangers chaque année.
Cette excellence de formation est adossée à une recherche de pointe de portée mondiale. 4 laboratoires dont 2 unités mixtes de recherche CNRS, innovent dans de multiples secteurs :
le LAMIH, unité mixte de recherche spécialisée dans le transport et la mobilité humaine ;
l’IEMN site de Valenciennes, qui se consacre aux nanosciences et à l’instrumentation ;
le CERAMATHS, qui regroupe deux domaines : les matériaux céramiques et procédés, et les mathématiques fondamentales et appliquées ;
enfin le LARSH, se concentre sur les grands enjeux humains et sociétaux.
L’UPHF dispose par ailleurs :
d’un impressionnant démonstrateur : l’Institut des Mobilités et des Transports durables, réunissant l’université et le technopôle Transalley,
d’une filiale « Valutec », qui favorise l’innovation et répond aux besoins industriels,
et d’un Hubhouse, dédié au développement de la culture entrepreneuriale et à la prise d'initiative pour les étudiants.
Humaine,… dynamique,… innovante,… l’université est sociétalement responsable !
Elle ambitionne de préserver notre environnement, de favoriser la cohésion sociale, et de promouvoir une économie plus juste.
Dans ce cadre, il est naturel que l’UPHF s’engage en faveur du numérique responsable.

- Reduce the environmental impact of its services: weight of images, videos, plugins, by favouring simpler or less energy-consuming solutions
- Make its digital services accessible to as many people as possible (even in the event of poor connection quality, disability, etc.)
